IT IS OK NOT TO BE OK
IT IS OK NOT TO BE OK
Verse of the day: 2 Chronicles 16: 7-9
9 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.
8 Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet when you relied on the Lord, he delivered them into your hand.
9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
During the reign of King Asa, there were no wars because the Lord gave him rest. The reason why is because King Asa prioritized God first in his life and reigns. For 35 years, he sought God for every decision he made. He was dependent on God's sovereignty. Things changed in his 36th year of reign. He became complacent, started to draw away from God's stature, and until he stops acknowledging God at all. God sent Prophet Ahaziah, reminding him of what God did to him and his kingdom. Instead of repenting, he became angry with the Prophet and imprisoned him.
What do we learn from the story of King Asa? As a believer, how do we respond to the warning of God? How do we respond to his disciplines - to every situation we encounter in our lives? How is our fire in serving Him? Are we become closer or drawing away from Him? Take a look at the life of King Asa, he was obedient to God for 35 years, and in the later years of his reign, he turns away from God. What he had before is no longer counted in the latter part of reigns. How do we relate it in our Christian life? Are we like King Asa? He knew what we have been- our struggles, trials, problems, and sins. He was in pain when we turn away from Him, making Him our second or even worst last priority. He is faithful and wanted us to come back home. His loving-kindness lasts longer, and he wants us to walk in His presence. Maybe you are successful and have everything- wealth, fame, like King Asa. But how far is your relationship to Him? When you died, are you ready to face Him? When He returns now, can you meet Him? Repent while you still have time to ask forgiveness. Do not hardened your hearts while God's favor is still in us. 2 Peter 3: 9-10 said, The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Repent before it's too late. You do not know when your time on earth ends. It is ok not to be ok but humble yourself before God because He owns you and everything in you.
If you are with me, please pray with this prayer. Lord Jesus, I acknowledge I sinned against you. Forgive my sins, cleanse me by your blood. I accept you as my Lord and savior. Teach me to obey you everyday in my life. Amen.
